This guide will explain the steps needed to connect your Betamin Builder picks to your Smartbet Source for automated betting.

What is Smartbet?

Smartbet is a non-Betfair solution for automated betting. This allows people to automate their betting without having a Betfair account. (If you have a Betfair account, then we recommend using the Bf Bot Manager software to automate your betting.)

Smartbet.io is a website that offers cloud and desktop based bots that can place bets on PS3838 which is a Pinnacle white label. PS3838 is of most interest to Betaminic users since it offers higher stake limits and does not ban winners. You can get PS3838 accounts from a variety of betting agents. Residents of almost any country can sign up with betting agents without the residency and deposit limit restrictions that Betfair often imposes.

STEP 2

Get a funded PS3838 account through PremiumTradings

PS3838 is a white label version of Pinnacle sportsbook.

A white label version is a franchised version of Pinnacle that uses the same markets and prices, and has the same or often higher stake limits.

A white label Pinnacle franchise can offer different services to users such as deposit methods, bonuses, and being based in different jurisdictions, allowing more customers to access Pinnacle markets.

Currently, PS3838 accounts can only be obtained through betting agents.

There are many different betting agents that provide access to PS3838 accounts. We recommend researching any agent you intend to use. While many are trustworthy, some have bad reviews, so do your own due diligence.

After you sign up for your chosen betting agent, ask them for PS3838 login details and deposit into your PS3838 account via the betting agent.

STEP 3

Setup your Smartbet account, your Source and Bot

We will need to:

1. Signup for a Smartbet account
2. Create a Smartbet private source to send your Betaminic picks to
3. Create a Smartbet cloud bot to bet on your Smartbet private source
4. Enter your Smartbet Source Name and Smartbet Bot ID into the Betaminic-Smartbet Link page in your Betamin Builder account.

1 Go to https://www.smartbet.io/ and click on “Sign Up”

2 After entering a username and password, you need to click on the link in a verification email.

3 Hover over the “My Picks” tab to see the drop down menu and select “My Sources”.

4 Click on “+ New Source” to add a new source.

5 A settings menu will appear for the new source.

Source Name: Please give the source a name. Any name is fine.

Privacy: Please select “Private”, not Public.

Approval Mode: Please select “Manual”, not Automatic.

The other fields are optional:

• Description: Optional notes about the source.
• Max Bet: Limit the maximum bet placed by your bot. Default is “0” (no limit).
• Distribution Factor: Default is 100%. Not needed for Betaminic users.

Click “Save” to complete the source setup.

6 Your Source will appear in your list of sources.

All fields except the Source Name and Privacy can be edited later.

7 Left click on the Source Name to go to the Source Page.

8 On the Source Page you will be able to see the past and current bets. Initially it will be blank.

Your Full Source Name will be shown in the format: smb.YourUserName>SourceName. You will need this later.

9 Now let’s create a bot to bet on the source.

Click on the “My Bots” tab.

10 Click on “Add New Bot”.

11 A settings menu will appear for the new bot.

• Bot Type: Choose “CLOUD” to run 24/7 without needing your PC on. Recommended for Smartbet.
• Description: Optional note about intended source and sportsbook.
• Currency: Must match your PS3838 account currency.
• Country: Should be a country that allows PS3838 access. If using a VPN, use the VPN country.

Click “Save” to create the bot.

12 The bot will now appear in your bot list. Description can be edited, but other fields cannot.

If there’s an error, change the bot’s status to “Inactive” and create a new one.

Click on “Configure” to continue bot setup.

13 The bot configuration screen will appear.

You can configure general settings that apply to all sources the bot follows.

• Max Orders: Total orders bot will handle at once.
• Same Event: Limits number of picks from same match (Default: 12).
• Same Market Side: Limits picks on same selection (Default: 4).

Example 1: To bet only once on “Arsenal” if multiple strategies give that pick, set “Same Market Side” to 1.

Example 2: To bet only once per match even if different picks are given, set “Same Event” to 1.

SB Note 1: If multiple picks are sent at the exact same second, they may all be placed. No workaround currently exists.

14 Scroll down to the bookmaker area and click “+ Add Bookmaker”.

15 Select “PINNACLE” from the drop-down list. Pinnacle = PS3838 in this context.

We’ve only tested automation with PS3838. Contact Smartbet if you plan to use other bookmakers. Each may have different fees.

Click “Save” after selecting “Pinnacle”.

16 Tick the checkbox “Allow Automation”.

Enter your PS3838 username and password provided by your betting agent. If you changed your password, use the updated one.

If the credentials are incorrect, the bot status will show as “OFFLINE” with a Book Status of “AUTH FAILED”.

If the credentials are correct, the bot will show “ONLINE” and “OK”. You will also see your PS3838 account balance.

Example: 605.97 / 960.97 (EUR) means 605.97 EUR is available, 960.97 EUR is total balance, and 355 EUR is already on bets.

All configuration fields on this screen are ACTIVE cells, meaning updates are saved immediately as you type. There is no separate “Save” button.

17 Scroll down and click “+ Add Source” to assign your Source to the bot.

Type in your Source name. If you used “Betaminic” in the name, many options may appear—be sure to select the one that includes your username.

Click “Save” to confirm.

18 The source will now be added to the bot.

You must now edit the stake settings.

The rest of the settings are optional.

Allow automation: Tick this box to let the bot place bets from this source. If you want to stop it, untick this box.

Allow Manual Orders: If a pick cannot be placed automatically (e.g., market not found), it becomes a manual order. Manual orders also incur the 0.01 EUR fee. To avoid paying for non-placed bets, we recommend unticking this.

Allow Cross Book Orders: This lets the bot try to place bets on other bookmakers if the one specified isn’t available. Not needed for Betaminic since it sends picks for Pinnacle only.

Keep Trying Failed Orders: If the odds are below the minimum, the bot won’t place the bet unless this is ticked. If odds rise again above the minimum, it will retry. (Only works pre-match, which is fine for Betaminic.)

Min Odds Drop: This allows bets even if the odds are below the minimum by a specified percentage.

Example: If minimum odds were 2.00, and you set “Min Odds Drop” to 50%, then the bot would accept 1.50 odds or higher.

This setting allows you to override the minimum odds. It’s up to you how to use this.

For reference, Betaminic strategy results are based on **all picks**, regardless of minimum odds.

There are two ways to use the minimum odds:

1. Ignore the minimum odds
2. Skip picks if they are under the minimum odds

The Betamin Builder strategy results are based on betting all picks at Pinnacle closing odds, regardless of minimum odds. So you can expect similar profits and drawdowns even ignoring the minimum odds.

Some users skip picks under the minimum odds, believing value is lost when odds drop more than the strategy’s long-term yield.

Minimum odds are calculated using historical data and variables (Yield, Avg Odds, P/L, etc.) to ensure profitability based on past performance.

They aim to offer a positive result. If historical yield ≥ 5%, the minimum odds ensure that yield. If yield is lower but positive, they aim to match the historical return.

It’s ultimately up to the user to decide based on the data.

Stake: Set the amount the bot will bet per pick. Ensure it’s not below PS3838’s minimum stake.

Flat/Relative:

• Flat = Level stakes. Same amount on every pick.
• Relative = Stake × points. E.g., 20 EUR × 3 points = 60 EUR. Betaminic sends all picks as 1 point.

Risked/ToWin:

• Risked: Fixed amount is risked per bet.
• ToWin: Stake adjusts to win the same amount per bet.

E.g., for odds 3.00 and stake 20 EUR (ToWin), bot stakes 10 EUR. For odds 1.01, bot stakes 2000 EUR. Be cautious with low odds!

Use the “Max Bet” setting in the source to limit stake risk. Example below with 100 EUR max bet:

19 Once you have set the bot correctly, you need to approve it to follow your own source.

Go to your “My Followers” page in the “My Picks” dropdown menu.

Click on the “Not approved” slider to change it to “Approved”.

The Smartbet side of things is now setup.

Next we need to connect your Betaminic account to your source.

20 In your Betamin Builder account, go to the “Pinnacle via Smartbet.io” page.

Enter your Bot ID and your Source Name.

Bot ID: You can get your Bot ID from the “My Bots” tab.

Source Name: Enter your “User name > Source Name”. Do not include the “smb.” part.

Example: If your full Source Name is smb.TestUser>BetaminicPicks, you only need to enter TestUser>BetaminicPicks.

Then, on your Betaminic-Smartbet page, set the Bot Status to “On”.

Congratulations!

Picks will now begin to be sent to your Smartbet bot and it will place real bets!

STEP 4

Smartbet Fees, Monitoring the Bot, and Troubleshooting

Now everything is setup and running. You will want to know how things work in more detail.

Sending Picks from Betaminic to Smartbet

In the Betamin Builder, the database scans for new picks that fit your strategy filters every 30 minutes. (i.e. 0900, 0930, 1000, 1030, etc.) If a new pick is found, it is added to your “Pending Picks” page. If you have email notifications switched on, then it will be emailed to you. If you have the Smartbet link switched on, then the pick will be sent to your Smartbet Source.

Smartbet Registering the Pick Order

Smartbet receives the pick and attempts to “Register” the pick in its system as an “Order”.

You can see the status of the “Order” on your bot page.

If the “Order” is successfully “Registered”, then it will also appear on your “Source” page as an “open” bet. It also lists past settled bets. The Source page gives a useful log of number of bets, ROI and a breakdown of bets by various details.

Smartbet Fees

There are two fees connected to each order that matter to Betaminic users.

SMARTBET.IO ORDER DISTRIBUTION FEE

SMARTBET.IO ORDER EXECUTION FEE

1 The fee for processing the order and distributing the order from the source to the bots that are following it is called the “SMARTBET.IO ORDER DISTRIBUTION FEE”. It is a fixed fee set at 0.01 EUR per order paid to Smartbet.

2 If a bot then successfully places a bet on an order, there is a “SMARTBET.IO ORDER EXECUTION FEE“. This is a variable fee set at 0.5% of the stake and paid to Smartbet.

For a 5 EUR bet, the total cost would be 0.035 EUR (0.01 EUR + 0.5% of 5 EUR stake.)

10 such bets would cost 0.35 EUR

100 such bets would cost 3.35 EUR

If we are following a set of strategies that produce 200 bets per month, it would only cost 6.70 EUR to automate the betting system through Smartbet. That is very good value for a service that includes a free cloud bot service. (No payment needed for a separate VPS service.)

For a 15 EUR bet, the total cost would be 0.085 EUR (0.01 EUR + 0.5% of 15 EUR stake.)

10 such bets would cost 0.85 EUR

100 such bets would cost 8.50 EUR

Each bet generates 6 entries in the transactions page.

(There are 4 other fees that do not affect Betaminic users.)

SMARTBET.IO ORDER EXECUTION FEES: 0.5% of stake for each bet successfully placed by bot

SOURCE ORDER EXECUTION FEES: zero because own source and no fees set

SOURCE ORDER EXECUTION EARNINGS: zero because own source and no fees set

SMARTBET.IO ORDER DISTRIBUTION FEES: 0.01 EUR fixed for each pick received by bot

SOURCE ORDER DISTRIBUTION FEES: zero because own source and no fees set

Total cost: 0.035 EUR per bet placed at 5 EUR = 0.01 EUR + 0.5% of 5 EUR stake (0.7% of stake)

If you follow a source created by another user who charges a fee to follow their source, then you would see Source Order Distribution fees and Source Order Execution fees.

If you are running a source that charges others to follow it, then you would see Source Order Distribution Earnings and Source Order Execution Earnings here.

You must not let others follow your Betaminic source, either paid or free. If that is discovered, then the Betaminic-Smartbet link for that account will be discontinued.

When you first sign up with Smartbet, they give you 2 EUR of “Initial Demo Credit”. This is so that you can test out the software first. 2 EUR gives you enough to place quite a few bets.

Depositing into your Smartbet balance

Eventually, you will need to deposit more money into Smartbet to pay for the order fees.

Click on the “Support” tab.

Then click on “Deposits – Withdrawals”

Type into the chat bar at the bottom left of the support screen:

“I want to deposit 50 EUR with the Betaminic 50% deposit bonus.”

The support service will get back to you with instructions on how you can deposit.

This will cost 50 EUR and give you 75 EUR in your Smartbet balance.

For your first deposit only, you can get a 50% bonus if you ask for the “Betaminic 50% deposit bonus” up to a maximum of a 25 EUR bonus. You can maximise this one-time-only bonus by depositing 50 EUR which will become 75 EUR and give you the full +25 EUR bonus.

You can of course just deposit 10 EUR, but this would only give you a 5 EUR bonus and you would not be able to get any further bonus in the future. So we recommend you max out that deposit bonus if you are planning to use the service for a few months.

Important note about fees

In this setup guide, we recommended unticking the “Allow Manual Orders” option.

There is an important reason for this connected to fees.

Sometimes Betaminic picks will not be correctly registered on Smartbet. This is for various reasons. The current success rate is 90%.

If the “Allow Manual Orders” option is off, then only correctly registered picks that have been matched to a market and can be automated will be processed, shown in the bot and charged fees.

If the “Allow Manual Orders” option is on, then ALL sent picks will be processed, shown in the bot and charged fees, even if their market was not found and that bet could not be automatically placed.

When a pick cannot be correctly registered, a reason will be listed in the “Status” column on the bot page.

If the reason cannot be determined by the Smartbet system, then the order status will appear as “Waiting Manual User Input”.

Here are some reasons why picks may become “Waiting Manual User Input”

• BOOK AUTOMATION UNSUPPORTED OR DISABLED: The bot owner has disabled automatic betting for the specific bookmaker, or Smartbet.io does not currently offer automation for that particular bookmaker. View list.
• SOURCE AUTOMATION DISABLED: The bot owner has disabled automatic betting for the source that this order came from.
• MISSING MARKET: The betting market could not be found in the Smartbet database.
• UNSUPPORTED MARKET: The market type is not supported for automatic betting. View supported markets.
• UNKNOWN MARKET: The market type could not be determined.
• MISSING EVENT: The event identifier could not be found in the database. This may happen if:
  • The bookmaker doesn’t offer the event.
  • Different team names are used.
  • The Pinnacle API is temporarily unavailable.

There are also “Failed Picks”, which will not even show up in the Smartbet system since they are not even loaded into the bot screen.

Failed Picks can be caused by:

• Invalid or incomplete data (e.g. missing odds).
• Duplicate pick submission.
• Invalid bot ID.
• Corrupt or badly formatted pick data.

Most Common Issues

In our tests so far, the most common errors are caused by:

1. If the Pinnacle API is temporarily unavailable at the time of pick submission. If you suddenly get 10 picks in a row that are not successfully registered, it’s likely due to Pinnacle API maintenance. In this case, you will need to bet manually on the unregistered picks.
2. If PS3838 uses different team name variations than Betaminic or Smartbet. If you notice a mismatch, please inform Smartbet Customer Service so they can update their team name mapping. You will need to bet manually until this is fixed.
3. If a duplicate pick has already been submitted with the same selection and exact same odds. Most users prefer not to bet twice on the same pick. If you do, you’ll need to bet manually on the second pick.

Lack of PS3838 Account Funds

By keeping the “Allow Manual Orders” option set to “off”, you can avoid paying the 0.01 EUR charge for picks that could not be automated. However, if a pick can be registered and the bot tries to place the bet but your PS3838 balance is too low, you’ll see this error:

This means the bot tried to bet with your remaining PS3838 balance, but it was below the minimum stake. The 0.01 EUR Order Distribution Fee is still charged. If this happens, consider pausing pick sending from Betaminic until you have enough funds again.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT LOW FUNDS

If you have no funds in your PS3838 account, do not leave your Smartbet bot active and running. PS3838 might ban your account for “API abuse”. Turn the bot off until you have funds again. This is when a user makes repeated data calls to the PS3838 API without making real bets. Even if you are not registering bets due to low account funds, if picks come through from Betaminic (or any source), then the Smartbet bot will make a data call to PS3838 trying to get price info and place the bet. This might be interpreted as data scraping with no intention to place real bets. The permanent ban order comes from PS3838 directly and the betting agent has no way to help you. The only way to regain access to PS3838 is to sign up with a different betting agent and try again. This has happened twice in one year to a Smartbet user we know. In the most recent case, the ban came after the bot ran for 7 days after the user’s account balance became too low to place any bets at the minimum stake. So we think it is okay for the bot to run when the account balance is low due to active bets taking up the balance since bets will clear within 48 hours, but if your settled balance reaches under the minimum stake size, we advise you to stop your bot until you have sufficient account funds again.

Tracking your Smartbet pick submissions

If you activate the Smartbet link, a new column will appear in your “Pending Picks” area.

This will show if a pick has been successfully registered AND bet on by your Smartbet bot AND at odds equal to or higher than the Betaminic minimum recommended odds. In that case, it will display a green tick and the odds the bet was placed at.

In all other cases, the pick will be shown with an orange question mark and the word “Verify”.

This means you need to manually check the Smartbet site to see if the pick was registered or bet on. It is not possible to display odds for bets placed below the minimum recommended odds in the current Smartbet system.

If you hover over the orange question mark, the “Smartbet Pick ID” will appear. This ID is useful when contacting Smartbet Customer Service about specific picks or bot orders.

If you see odds in the “Pinnacle Bet Odds” column, your Smartbet bot successfully placed the bet.

If you see the orange “Verify” question mark, it means one of two things:

1. The bot placed the bet but at odds lower than the minimum recommended odds.
2. There was a registration issue and the pick was not bet on. You can choose to place the bet manually.

Common reasons for orange verify question marks and possible solutions

#	Reason	Solution
1	The pick was successfully registered and bet on, but the odds taken were lower than the recommended minimum odds.	No action needs to be taken. The bet was successfully placed.
2	The pick was successfully registered, but you did not have enough funds in your PS3838 account to place a bet on it.	Add more funds to your PS3838 account or stop the Betaminic bot sending picks to your Smartbet Source until some bets settle and you have enough PS3838 funds to place bets again.
3	The Pinnacle API might have been temporarily unavailable at time of pick submission, usually due to server maintenance.	If you suddenly get 10 picks in a row that are not successfully registered, it is likely a Pinnacle API issue. You will need to bet manually on these picks.
4	If PS3838 uses different team name variations than those in the Betaminic database or Smartbet mapping system.	If you notice a mismatch in team names, report both versions to Smartbet Customer Service so they can update their mapping file. Manually bet on those picks meanwhile.
5	A duplicate of the pick has already been submitted with the same selection and exact same odds.	Most users do not want to bet twice on the exact same pick. If you do, you must bet manually on the second pick.
6	The pick did not appear on your bot and no failure reason is shown.	Strategies with negative All Period yields do not produce minimum odds, so picks are not sent to Smartbet (e.g., lay strategies). These must be bet manually if desired.

The orange question mark only means the pick was not successfully placed at or above the minimum odds. It does not necessarily mean the pick wasn’t registered. Check Smartbet for full status.

When a pick is not registered, you can manually verify it on the Smartbet site and decide whether to bet manually.

On the historical picks page, you can compare Pinnacle closing odds with the odds your bot used. Differences may occur but long-term results should be similar.

Pick Submission Success Rate

From our current tests so far:

We have a 96% success rate for pick submission excluding Pinnacle API Server outages.

We have a 84% success rate for pick submission including Pinnacle API Server outages.

(We identify Pinnacle API Server outages as those when all picks sent in the same short time period were rejected.)

Smartbet Customer Service

If you have any questions about the Smartbet bot system or if you have queries about why a pick has not been registered, then please contact Smartbet Customer Service through their “Support” portal. This is the fastest way to get support. The Smartbet Forum is NOT meant for customer support. Questions on there may not be answered as quickly as the support chat service. The Smartbet Support area is meant for customer support.

The Smartbet link has been added to Betaminic as a result of many requests from users for non-Betfair automation options. While Smartbet is not perfect, it is the best publicly available non-Betfair automation service and connects to PS3838, a white label version of Pinnacle which offers higher stake limits and does not ban winners. Even without achieving a 100% pick submission rate, it offers a level of automation not previously possible.

Some users may use the service as a way to assist them and place most of their bets, and then manually place the unregistered picks, while other users may just let the bot place as many automated picks as possible and be satisfied with that. It is up to each user how to make use of this new option.

We will do our best to help you with the setup process for using Smartbet with PS3838, but for issues relating to failed pick submissions, inquiries about other bookmakers, and requests for changes to the bot functions, we recommend that you contact Smartbet Customer Service directly. As more and more Betaminic users try Smartbet, and make requests to them, there is more chance that they will make the changes on our combined wish list.
