The Best Betting Strategies for 2026

Every year we rank the best betting strategies by profit, yield, drawdown and Betaminic rating. Here we can see the long-term winning strategies and also see some new strategy ideas that have been successful. In this article we will highlight the top performing strategies and show how they can work together in a multi-strategy betting system. With big data from the Betamin Builder tool, we can easily see what worked historically and follow those strategies for the best chance of success in the future. This year, we add a new category to our rankings: Rank by Consistency! We also add a new “Strategy Type” to each strategy to let you know if it similar to other strategies in terms of filters.

What is Betaminic and its Betamin Builder Tool?

The Betaminic website provides a tool called the “Betamin Builder” that has a database of over 13 years of football statistics and matching bookmaker odds covering 111 leagues around the world. This means that you can backtest betting strategy ideas very easily with real historical bookmaker odds. So if you can find a betting strategy that has worked long term historically, then you can reasonably expect that such a betting strategy has more chance of making profit than a betting system that has not been independently backtested yourself (like many paid tipsters and other betting systems for sale out there).

What are the Public Strategies?

Betaminic has been running since 2017 and many users share their strategies on the “public strategies” page inside the Betamin Builder. It is free to sign up and look at those strategies. In the beginning, it is probably easier to just follow the most successful publicly shared strategies. And then you can start to create your own private strategies later on if you get inspired to do so. The strategies can be ranked in many ways, such as by profit and loss, yield, drawdown and other factors. We also have our own “Betaminic rating” that we use to make it easier to see which strategies are performing the best. The Betaminic rating is the default order that the public strategies are listed in. So the easiest way to start is to click on the “follow” button for a few of the top ranking strategies that you like the look of. In this article, we rank those public strategies and explain them in a bit more detail so you can see which strategies are performing the best right now.

General Ranking Rules

We have only included strategies that:

• Have a yield of 3% or more in their “Since shared” data set.
• Have more than 100 bets in their “Since shared” data set

There are more than 1,000 publicly shared strategies at the moment. In order to make the rankings more meaningful we have excluded strategies that have a yield of less than 3% in their “Since shared” period of data. Why is the “Since shared” period important? The “Since shared” period has the results of the strategy since it was shared publicly. This means that the strategy has not been edited or changed since that point. We can see very clearly what results would have been achieved if the betting strategy rules that were set had been followed. When researching strategies, it is important to avoid data mining (selecting only good results from the data) and to find real trends and patterns in the historical data. A very simple way is to confirm this is to look at the “Since shared” results to see if the positive trend is continuing. We also exclude strategies with less than 100 bets in their “Since shared” results data set. This is because we feel that less than 100 bets is not enough to say with confidence whether a strategy is continuing the trend that was researched. With these 2 filters, we then rank the remaining 316 strategies that meet these requirements. This does however mean that a number of new or updated versions of old strategies have not yet reached enough bets to be included in these rankings, but it does not mean that those new or updated strategies are bad strategies.

Top 20 by Consistency

We feel this new category is so interesting that we have included the top 20 strategies. Some of the top 10 strategies had a number of overlaps with each other, and we wanted to include all the strategies that have maintained or beaten their Research Period yields and average monthly profit levels.

With this Consistency Category, we have separated the data into two parts. The data that was available when the strategy was first created, which we call the Research Period (RP) data, and the new data from when the strategy was started, which we call the Since Shared (SS) data. We divide the SS yield by the RP yield to see what the ratio is. For example, if a strategy had an RP yield of 5% and its SS yield is 5% then its RP-SS ratio will be 100%. If a strategy had an RP yield of 5% and its SS yield is 10% then its RP-SS ratio will be 200%. If a strategy had an RP yield of 5% and its SS yield is 2.5% then its RP-SS ratio will be 50%. So larger percentages are better. This value shows in one figure how consistent the strategy as been in terms of its historical trend and the trend of its real bets since creation. We can then also look at the number of bets that have been placed in the Since Shared data to see how much data this figure is based on. Obviously, the more bets that have been placed in the Since Shared period, the more data supporting this trend being consistent that we have.

Consistency No. 1: 485% of Researched Profits/Yield achieved van basten v1 (nirnouta50) (Away Win)

Strategy Type: A01 Weak Away Against the Trend (40 ppm.)   (ppm. = picks per month)

This is an against the trend type of strategy that looks for matches where recent form has been poor for the away team. This is likely to push prices up above their fair value as retail bettors stay away from them. By backing such matches long term, value can be found. This strategy was created by user nirnouta50 who created 12 of the 20 strategies in this top 20 of consistency, which is an amazing achievement. When you see a strategy created by him, then you can know that it is a strategy worth taking a closer look at. He has created many successful strategies and is one of the longest running veterans on Betaminic. Many thanks to him for sharing these strategies. This strategy has a RP-SS yield ratio of 485% after 131 bets. It has 40 bets per month on average, so it is a comparatively high volume strategy which is great for seeing data build up quickly. The strategy was researched using 6,587 bets worth of RP data which is plenty to give support to its trend of 6% yield. One worrying point is the -57 unit maximum drawdown from the All Time period, but average odds of 2.91 and 6,720 bets, that is not such an unusual number. With the right bank management, this could be a great addition to your set.

Consistency No. 2: 380% of Researched Profits/Yield achieved  TOM WHITAKER HD4 Very Poor Home part 1 (TomW) (Home Win)

Strategy Type: H01 Home Fav Against the Trend (2 ppm.)

This strategy is similar to the Contend UD family of strategies that looks at home teams with terrible recent form but where the odds give the team a chance and that “this” is a match they can win to end their poor run. This version is looking at home favourites. It does not find many picks per month, but has been running so long since August 2021 that it has 139 bets int its Since Shared period. With those 139 bets it has an SS-RP ratio of 380% and a drawdown of only -14.94. That is a really low drawdown. It has an easy to follow win rate of 61%. There are no warning flags for this strategy, and TOM WHITAKER HD4 Very Poor Home part 1 should be an automatic addition to your betting portfolio.

Consistency No. 3: 303% of Researched Profits/Yield achieved   TOM WHITAKER BSG 09 Very Poor Home (Updated 2021-4-30) (twsystem1bm) (Home Win)

Strategy Type:  H02 Home Against the Trend (5 ppm.)

TOM WHITAKER BSG 09 Very Poor Home (Updated 2021-4-30) is in the similar strategy family as Contend UD and the previous strategy TOM WHITAKER HD4 Very Poor Home part 1. It also looks at home teams with poor recent form, but this version ignores super strong favourites and allows betting on higher odds for the home team up to quite high levels which is why we give it its own strategy type “H02” instead of being the same as the previous strategy. Its league choices are still quite strict and only has 5 picks per month. We see the max drawdown go up to 37 units and average odds of 3.47 since we bet on higher odds. But it has 310 bets of SS data and a RP-SS ratio of 330%! This once again points to the strong value of going against the short term trends that influence the retail betting market. One possible weak point is the strategy is only based on 853 bets of data since 2012 which is a bit small for the big data methodology.

Strategy Type: A02 Away Dog Against the Trend

grand vent v2 is similar to van basten v1 in that it backs away teams with bad recent form, so it is against the trend, but this grand vent version backs big underdogs at even higher odds bands than van basten. We see the average odds go up from 2.91 to 4.9 but the maximum drawdown actually goes down from -57 to -54 which is surprising. The yield also improve from 6% to 13%. The RP-SS ratio is a strong 302% after 104 bets in the Since Shared period. These two strategies bet on different selections and can be followed at the same time. These two strategies produce 74 bets between them per month which is great in terms of bet volume and getting to targets faster.

Consistency No. 5: 259% of Researched Profits/Yield achieved    TOM WHITAKER BSG 09 Very Poor Home (twsystem1bm) (Home Win)

Strategy Type: H02 Home Against the Trend  (6 ppm)

TOM WHITAKER BSG 09 Very Poor Home is the same strategy type as TOM WHITAKER BSG 09 Very Poor Home (Updated 2021-4-30). The only difference is the league choice which gets 6 picks per month instead of 5. It has a RP-SS ratio of 259% after 333 bets which is a good sign of its consistency.

Strategy Type: D01 Strong Home v Medium Away

A 9 backs strong home teams playing decent away teams. It has an RP-SS ratio of 225% after 502 bets. Having such a high ratio after over 500 bets is really, really significant and should make this strategy be considered strongly by everyone despite the -41 unit drawdown. Its RP yield was 7% but its SS yield has been 16%.

When looking at the kinds of fixtures it picks up, we can see that these are the kinds of games that are going to be tight and close run affairs.

Consistency No. 7: 209% of Researched Profits/Yield achieved     van basten v 2 (nirnouta50) (Away Win)

Strategy Type: A01 Weak Away Against the Trend (56 ppm.)

van basten v 2 has exactly the same filters as van basten v1 but includes more leagues which boosts the picks from 40 ppm to 56 ppm. It does add more to the drawdown which goes up from -57 to -81. The RP-SS ratio of +209% after 181 bets is exciting to see, but this strategy will need careful bank management.

Strategy Type: D02 Evens Away Fav v Weak Home

championnat nul C 1 backs the draw when the market model gives the away team an evens chance of winning and the form history shows the home team does not win much. Th base logic is good. The RP-SS ratio is +181% after 178 bets. The drawdown is quite low for a draw strategy of just -28.66 units. The RP yield of +14% nearly doubles to 26% since it was shared. It seems to be a good draw strategy to use.

Strategy Type: A03 On Form Away Follow the Trend

away xs actually follows the trend in this case. It backs the away team that has had a good run of wins in recent form. Its RP-SS ratio is +181% after 133 bets and has an impressive yield of 11% in its RP period and 20% in its since shared period. The drawdown is quite low, too at a very manageable -23.78 units.

Strategy Type: H03 Drawing Home (52 ppm)

ariane v2 backs the home team when it has a history of drawing. It seems like the home team does get beaten easily but does not close out winning games. This lack of winning helps push the home win odds up and give a bit more value.  It has a high volume of picks per month and has a RP-SS yield ratio of +149% after 504 bets since shared. Again, over 500 bets worth of data is very, very significant and make this strategy one to be followed if you can manage the -57 unit maximum drawdown. It was researched with 8,000 bets of data and this trend looks to be grounded in lots of supporting data.

Strategy: Type: O01 Low Scoring Home

This is an over 2.5 goals strategy that looks for home teams that are struggling to score. It does not have many picks per month but has reached 105 real bets with a RP-SS yield ratio of 123%. The drawdown is very low at -14.82 units. The win rate is an easy to follow 50%. This seems another automatic choice to be added into people’s betting sets.

Consistency No. 12: 118% of Researched Profits/Yield achieved      Colossus 05 Against the Trend Overs AL (Updated 2020-07-04) (Betaminic) (Over 2.5 goals)

Strategy Type: O02 Evens Against the Trend (9 ppm)

Colossus 05 Against the Trend Overs AL (Updated 2020-07-04) is another Over 2.5 goals strategy. It is also going against the recent form trend looking for matches where there weren’t goals. This strategy has a RP-SS yield ratio of +118% after 512 bets. Again, over 500 bets is a very significant number and really justifies its Betaminic rating of 100. The RP yield was 10% and the SS yield is 12%. Together with the low drawdown of -14.55 units makes this a strong recommendation to anyone.

Strategy Type: A04 Away Dog Unders (19 ppm)

back in the saddle ext v1 backs the away team in matches where goals are not expected. The idea is that one goal can win it. It has a RP-SS yield of 116% after 219 bets. The drawdown is a little high a -47 units. One thing to note is that there are two strategies that have the same name on the Public Strategies page. Consistency No. 14: 114% of Researched Profits/Yield achieved       back in the saddle ext v2 (nirnouta50) (Away Win)

Strategy Type: A04 Away Dog Unders (16 ppm)

back in the saddle ext v2 bets on even higher odds away teams than back in the saddle ext v1 but chooses fewer leagues which means it only gets 16 picks per month compared to 19. This edit manages to reduce the drawdown from -47 to -38 which is more manageable. The RP-SS yield ratio is 114% after 235 bets.

Consistency No. 15: 109% of Researched Profits/Yield achieved      ariane v1 (nirnouta50) (Home Win)

Strategy Type: H03 Drawing Home (29 ppm)

ariane v1 has exactly the same filters as ariane v2 except it includes fewer leagues. This means it has just 29 picks per month rather than 52. This does reduce the drawdown from -57 to -47. The RP-SS yield ratio is 109% after 310 bets which is a good sign that this trend is consistent. It backs home teams that avoid losing but struggle to get many wins.

Consistency No. 16: 102% of Researched Profits/Yield achieved      Tipstar Sharp Attack (Tipstar) (Away Win)

Strategy Type: A05 Losers

Tipstar Sharp Attack backs the away team in matches where both teams are losing many matches over the season. This is a match between losers and both teams will be thinking this si the game they can win. With the inconsistency that comes from such battles, the value lies with the away bet. The RP-SS yield ratio is 102% after 311 bets which is a good sign that this trend is consistent. The historical maximum drawdown of -48.48 units does need to be carefully planned for though.

Consistency No. 17: 101% of Researched Profits/Yield achieved      venom v1 (nirnouta50) (Home Win)

Strategy Type: H04 Weak away fav v Decent Home (26 ppm)

venom v1 backs home teams where the away team is the favorite by odds but the home team has decent form and could win. The maximum historical drawdown is very high at -60 but the strategy is VERY consistent. The RP-SS yield ratio is 101% after 403 bets which is a good sign that this trend is consistent. The 7.7% yield researched has continued exactly the same into the live betting phase. This is exactly what we want from out strategies, for the trend to continue from RP to SS with a 100% rate of consistency.

Consistency No. 18: 97% of Researched Profits/Yield achieved       boust v1 (nirnouta50) (Home Win)

Strategy Type: H05 Away narrow losses

boust v1 backs the home team when the away team has been losing matches by the tight scoreline of 1-0 and is still not considered a massive underdog. This interesting filter has led to a very solid performance with a low drawdown of -25 units despite average odds of 2.56.  The RP-SS yield ratio is 97% after 246 bets.

Consistency No. 19: 96% of Researched Profits/Yield achieved       Pro6 Against the Trend Overs v2 (Updated 2020-07-15) (Betaminic) (Over 2.5 goals)

Strategy Type: O02 Evens Against the Trend (12ppm)

Pro6 Against the Trend Overs v2 (Updated 2020-07-15) has exactly the same filters as Colossus 05 Against the Trend Overs AL (Updated 2020-07-04) but with more leagues so it gets 12 picks per month instead of 9.  The RP-SS yield ratio is 96% after 652 bets which is an excellent and very significant sign that this trend is real and consistent This version gets more picks and has a yield of +10%, still with a low drawdown of -17.82 units.

Strategy Type: A04 Away Dog Unders (15 ppm)

back in the saddle ext v1 (ID: 1387727)  has similar settings to back in the saddle ext v2 and back in the saddle ext v1 (ID: 1389869)  but chooses fewer leagues which means it only gets 15 picks per month compared to 19 of back in the saddle ext v1 (ID: 1389869). This edit manages to reduce the drawdown from -47 to -37 which is more manageable. The RP-SS yield ratio is 96% after 232 bets.

Some strategies are variations of others, so we have given them Strategy Type Codes (e.g. “A01”) to help understand which ones are similar to each other.

For similar strategies, you can follow the one you think looks best, or you can follow all of them and just bet once when there are duplicate picks.

The strategies showing strong consistency from their Research Period trend to their Since Shared trend are very encouraging to see successful strategy creation. User nirnouta50 really stands out for having created so many consistent betting systems.

Strategy Type: O03 Home Blanks v Scoring Away (4 ppm)

X 4 + (Draws 4-5 Edit) All Leagues (Updated 2023-9-16) bets on Over 2.5 goals when the away team has been scoring but the home team has not. The poor record of th e home tam is enough to keep prices high and the value there. It has a very low drawdown of -10 units.

Low Drawdown No. 2:  -10.92 MDD MDDE UNDER MİN 2 YENİ STRATEJİ (twsystem1bm) (Under 2.5 goals)

Strategy Type: U01 Evens Against the Trend (15 ppm)

MDDE UNDER MİN 2 YENİ STRATEJİ backs under 2.5 goals when both the home and away teams have been in high scoring games recently. This goes against the trend and again tries to take advantage of the retail betting market following simple short term form and over backing the Over 2.5 goals selection. This MDDE version selected leagues by those with the lowest drawdown. A drawdown of 10.92 is very low.

Low Drawdown No. 3:  -10.98 MDD 2024 BSG15 UNDER MIN 2 YENI STRATEJ (twsystem1bm) (Under 2.5 goals)

Strategy Type: U01 Evens Against the Trend (14 ppm)

2024 BSG15 UNDER MIN 2 YENI STRATEJ has the same filters as MDDE UNDER MİN 2 YENİ STRATEJİ but with different leagues selected.

Low Drawdown No. 4:  -11.43 MDD Sayar’s Under 2.5 (A1) (SayarKyaw) (Under 2.5 goals)     

Strategy Type: U02 Away Fav Follow the Trend

Sayar’s Under 2.5 (A1) is another Under 2.5 goals strategy. This strategy follows the trend, looking for matches where the away team are favorite and have not been conceding many goals. The expectation is a 0-1 away win or for the home team to grind out a 0-0 or 1-1 draw. This strategy has a 75% RP-SS yield ratio after 345 SS bets suggesting it has managed to find a real trend and seen its profits continue.

Low Drawdown No. 5:  -12.48 MDD OVER 2. (Dave3310) (Over 2.5 goals)      

Strategy Type: O02 Evens Against the Trend (19ppm)

OVER 2. is a long running and popular strategy that has topped the public strategy table a few times.  It goes against the trend, backing Over 2.5 goals in games where the recent results have been under 2.5 goals. The home team is favorite and 2-1 is the scoreline hoped for. This strategy has 571 bets since it was shared and has yields of 82% of the Research Period level. There is a lot of data supporting this value trend.

Low Drawdown No. 6:  -12.82 MDD pro6v1 (nirnouta50) (Over 2.5 goals)  

Strategy Type: O02 Evens Against the Trend (21ppm)

pro6v1 has the exact same filters as OVER 2. but uses different leagues giving it 21 picks per month instead of 19. OVER 2. has performed with more consistency than this version and that remains the better one.

Low Drawdown No. 7:  -13.33 MDD  2024 BSG13 x 4 + v2 (twsystem1bm) (Over 2.5 goals)    

Strategy Type: O03 Home Blanks v Scoring Away (10 ppm)

2024 BSG13 x 4 + v2 uses similar filter categories as X 4 + (Draws 4-5 Edit) All Leagues (Updated 2023-9-16) but the filters are so different that they could almost be considered a different strategy type, but we keep them in the same type here. This version manages to get 10 picks per month instead of 4, but the drawdown goes up from -10 to -13. It is still a very low drawdown. The consistency of both versions is the same hovering at around 45% of the RP yield after 100 bets. This strategy bets on Over 2.5 goals when the home team has failed to score but the away team has been getting goals. 2024 BSG13 x 4 + v2 looks at an even shorter form period than X 4 + (Draws 4-5 Edit) All Leagues (Updated 2023-9-16) does. In this way it finds more selections.

Low Drawdown No. 8:  -13.36 MDD UNDER MİN 2 YENİ STRATEJİ (GrandEkinoks) (Under 2.5 goals)      

Strategy Type: U01 Evens Against the Trend (7 ppm)

UNDER MİN 2 YENİ STRATEJİ is the original strategy that 2024 BSG15 UNDER MIN 2 YENI STRATEJ and MDDE UNDER MİN 2 YENİ STRATEJİ are based on but with different leagues selected. UNDER MİN 2 YENİ STRATEJİ has over 500 bets since created but only 31% of its RP yield has been made. 2024 BSG15 UNDER MIN 2 YENI STRATEJ remains the most consistent version with 74% of its RP yield made after 255 bets.

Low Drawdown No. 9:  -14.13 MDD Colossus 01 Home Dog (Betaminic) (Home Win)       

Strategy Type: H06 Home Dog on form

Colossus 01 Home Dog is another popular strategy that has been running since 2018 and is still getting into the top 10 charts with its performance. It backs the home team when it is an underdog by subjective odds, but the objective form suggests it has a chance to win. One big weak point of this strategy was the RP data only having 111 bets which is very small, but its SS bets are now at 180 and is going strong with 21% yields. This is another strategy worth keeping in your set.

Low Drawdown No. 10:  -14.19 MDD e2 (JOSE ANTONIO) (Favourite)    

Strategy Type: F01 Weak Fav

e2 has topped the ratings charts for a long time and is another popular strategy. The low drawdown of -14 make it very easy to follow long term. It backs the weak favorite when the home and away teams have been inconsistent in recent form. So it is a case of the subjective odds telling us who the market thinks is going to win and we follow that sentiment.

Top 10 by Betaminic Rating

In the ratings ranking we see they are all strategies that already came up in the consistency and low drawdown top rankings.

This is an indication of the ratings system doing its job to highlight the bet performing strategies.

There is a nice blend of Away, Draw, Home, Fav and Overs strategies that makes this set of 10 a good set by themselves.

Top 10 by Profit

In this Profit ranking we see some strategies not yet mentioned in the Consistency, Low Drawdown or Ratings rankings.

Profit No. 1:  +110 units profit Contend UD (Misbe91) (Home Win)

Strategy Type: H02 Home Against the Trend (27 ppm.)

Contend UD is part of the against the trend type of strategies that back the home team when their form is absolutely awful. The form scares away bettors making the odds rise as the other selections get backed lower. Eventually this makes these selections value. Contend Ud had a normal looking maximum drawdown of -37 at the end of 2024, but in 2025 it went on a very large losing run that pushed its historical maximum drawdown to -71 making it a quit high drawdown strategy. There are other variations of this “H02 Home Against the Trend” type with smaller drawdowns and more consistency from different league selections.

Contend UD’s RP-SS yield ratio is now down to 35%. This could mean that while this trend is real, the Contend D settings or league choices do not find its most pure core trend.

Contend UD has topped the profit charts many times, so it is still a valid choice to follow, but needs careful bank management for the larger drawdowns.

Profit No. 2:  +88 units profit  SH9 (bere02) (Draw)

Strategy Type: D01 Strong Home v Medium Away (38ppm)

SH9 is another high profit strategy with a big drawdown, but its RP-SS yield ratio is a strong 85% after 1,201 real bets at Pinnacle closing odds with a yield of 7.40%. It has a really strong profit trend that is keeping close to its RP trend numbers. This strategy backs the draw when a strong home team is facing an away team with medium form. The chances of a stalemate are high as the away team has the form to play safe and earn the draw.  

Profit No. 3:  +86 units profit  away wins (Bastian) (Away Win)

Big vs Good – Top Leagues is another great draw strategy that has kept a high yield of 10% after 825 real bets. That is 49% of its RP yield but still very good. The drawdown is a manageable -34 units. It backs strong home teams by form against medium away teams when the home team is about evens. These sound like very logical filters to back the draw with.

This one also has a manageable drawdown of -36 units and an impressive 6% yield after 1,121 bets since created. That is a lot of data to support its trend. This is also 70% of its RP yield which looks like it was researched well and managed to find a genuine trend. This strategy backs the draw after a medium term run of there being no draws.

This draw strategy is similar to others that back the draw when a strong home team faces a medium away team. Its good point is its SS yield is just 92% of its RP yield after 146 bets. The RP yield was 29% and the SS yield is holding strong at 26%. The drawdown is extremely low for a draw strategy.
